Teammates Mark Wilkins and Michael Lewis, drove their Hyundai i30N race cars to an impressive 1, 2 finish in round seven of the Pirelli World Challenge 2018 TCR class during sunny Saturday afternoon action in the 58th running of the Rose Cup Races.
Hyundai's dynamic driving duo used brilliant tactics, skill and the power of their i30N race cars to put together an exciting performance. After patiently trailing the leader for 31 laps and looking for their opening, the two drivers took advantage of slower lapped traffic to slip by the leader in the closing minutes of the 40-minute race. After winning the race, Wilkins said: “These i30N TCR cars are blast to drive. This track is fun but also tight, so you have to be cautious at times.” Sunday's round 8 of the Pirelli World Challenge series was more challenging for the Bryan Herta Autosport/Hyundai team. Lewis picked up his second podium finish of the weekend in second place but teammate Wilkins did not finish the race.
